Celebrating 125 Years

Over the past several years, #GivingTuesday has grown in popularity across the United States and around the world.  Started in 2012 by the 92nd Street “Y”  #GivingTuesday was a response to Black Friday and Cyber Monday.  #GivingTuesday is a time to focus on others instead of self, a time to share our blessings with those around us. This year, Eastern Christian is challenging its students and families to participate a #GivingTuesday event fueled by social media and collaboration.

The Challenge

We want to celebrate 125 years on 12/5 with 100% participation from our current school body.  For one week, beginning on #GivingTuesday, 11/26 and culminating on #AllECDay, 12/5 we want you to celebrate our 125th anniversary by giving to EC and sharing with others why you gave on social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.). In addition, #AllECDay will be Spirit Day when students and faculty are encouraged to wear EC Swag.

Easy to Participate

It’s easy to participate, it is about the number of donations, not the size of them! Give a gift online, starting at $10.  Or, if you don’t have a credit card, you can stop in any of the school offices, give a cash gift (as little as $1), sign your name and grade, then share the reason you gave on social media. And don’t forget, on Tuesday 12/5 wear your EC Swag.

The Reward

Our goal is 100% participation.  We want every staff/student/family to be a part of this event.  The results will be tallied at the week of 12/5. The class (preK-12) that has the highest percentage of participants (Swag and donations) receives a pizza party and each student in that class will receive a squishie! If every class has 100% participation, we’ll throw a party for the entire school!

So get your swag on, make a donation, and tell your friends and family what you love about EC on social media.

Happy 12/5.
