Does anxiety affect you or someone you know? For nearly everyone in the United States, the answer to that question is YES. Anxiety is a growing epidemic, and yet there is rarely discussion of this or other mental health issues.
Eastern Christian is proud to be hosting a free screening of the independent film ANGST. This screening is open to the public and is for parents and other community members. (We will be screening the film for all of our 8th-12th graders later that week.) We will follow our screening with the opportunity for Q & A with school staff and counselors, as well as experts from the Christian Health Care Center. Invite your friends!
From the makers of Screenagers, this film was created by parents and educators who have a personal experience with anxiety. The filmmakers’ goal is to have a global conversation and raise awareness around anxiety. ANGST features candid interviews with kids and young adults who suffer, or have suffered, from anxiety and what they’ve learned about it. The film includes discussions with mental health experts about the causes of anxiety and its sociological effects, as well as help, resources and tools.
Come be part of the conversation and help break the stigma around anxiety!
(film is appropriate for ages 6th grade and up)
