Building on the success of last year’s highly successful “Robot Fight Night,” (video above) Eastern Christian High School announced the formation of a new extra-curricular program: Robotics Club!

Robotics Club is an extra-curricular activity for Eastern Christian High School students to gain experience in STEM-related fields. Eastern Christian School will be joining FIRST Robotics Tech Challenge, a worldwide robotics competition for high schools and middle schools. EC will be competing against other schools in the northern NJ area.

The club will meet 3 times per week as they build “EagleBot 1.0.” In the late fall and winter the club will have Saturday events competing against other schools in tournaments.

All ECHS students are welcome to join the team, no experience necessary! There are a large number of jobs on the team, from fundraising, graphic design and video-editing to electronics, robot building and programming. If you have an interest in participating, we have a spot for you on the team!

If you have other questions, email Tim Steen, EC Robotics Teacher, at timsteen@dos5.net. Other coaches are Kristen Rudd, EC Math Teacher, Michael Silbernagel, Mechanical Engineer at Picatinny Arsenal, and Tim Rudd, Software Developer at BrightLogic, Inc.
